Practice tasks

Freight pricing is the kind of thing a tester is asked to verify on day one: a chargeable weight, a zone, a few surcharges and a tax. Every number here can be checked by hand.

1. Rate quote

  1. Submit the form empty and assert every validation message.
  2. Enter a 5 digit pincode and assert the error.
  3. Enter 600001 and assert the city name appears under the field.
  4. Quote 10 kg in a 30x30x30 box and assert the chargeable weight is the actual weight.
  5. Quote 2 kg in a 60x50x40 box and assert the volumetric weight (24 kg) is used instead.
  6. Ship within one region and then across the country, and assert the zone and the freight change.
  7. Tick insurance with a declared value of 50,000 and assert 750 is added.
  8. Assert the fuel surcharge is exactly 12% of the freight.
  9. Send to pincode 781001 and assert the remote area charge appears.
  10. Switch between the three services and assert the rate and the delivery estimate both change.

2. Booking

  1. Open the booking form without a quote and assert the empty state.
  2. Submit the booking empty and assert each required field is named.
  3. Add three package rows and assert the package count in the summary.
  4. Remove a row and assert the count drops again.
  5. Assert the last row cannot be removed.
  6. Enter a declared weight heavier than the quoted weight and assert the warning.
  7. Pick a pickup date in the past and assert it is rejected.
  8. Book and assert the AWB number starts with CL.

3. Tracking

  1. Track an AWB that does not exist and assert the error.
  2. Track the AWB you just booked and assert the first stage is complete.
  3. Assert the timeline has seven stages and that only the reached ones are marked done.
  4. Assert the status on the card matches the last completed stage.
  5. Cancel a shipment from the list and assert it can no longer be tracked as active.

4. Shipments list

  1. Assert every booked shipment is listed, newest first.
  2. Search by AWB and assert one row is left.
  3. Filter by service and assert each row shows that service.
  4. Filter by status and assert the rows match.
  5. Combine a search and a filter and assert both are applied.

5. Warehouse

  1. Assert the item count tile matches the number of rows.
  2. Assert every row at or below its reorder level is flagged Low or Out of stock.
  3. Filter by one warehouse and assert every row belongs to it.
  4. Filter by Out of stock and assert each quantity is zero.
  5. Sort by quantity and assert the order, then sort again and assert it reverses.
  6. Search for a SKU and assert one row is left.
  7. Reorder a low row and assert the quantity goes up by 500 and the status changes.
  8. Assert the stock value tile equals the sum of quantity x unit price.
